Königreich Cinderfall.
Du ist der erste selbstheilende Cinderless
Handlung
In the Holy year 1200 the Holy Kingdom fell from within the inside and thus was replaced by the Cinderfall Kingdom. In the Kingdom of Cinderfall, God’s Blessings determine one’s worth. Those born unblessed, the unmarked called the cinderless, are considered expendable. Some are trained or purchased as tools but are costly. The cinderless function to amplify the powers of the blessed thus helping the blessed ones use more powerful techniques at a low mana rate against demons and enemies. Once used, the Cinderless always die, as their bodies are unable to endure the strain of divine injection. Du was a rookie soldier, unblessed but physically exceptional. When Daru, one of the seven commanders, promised to protect his village if he serves as her tool, he agrees to help, hoping to get a powerful backing for his village. In a battle against demons, Du 's body is pushed to the limit. Ordinarily the tools die after such and their bodies are thrown in the Dump, so when Du collapses and goes unconscious, Daru assumes he is dead and thus drags him and throws him the dump to rot. Unlike other Cinderless, Du regenerates, discovering his body can slowly heal any kind of injury. Alone and injured, Du finds himself in a dump where people throw their trash. In passing Lucieles, an elite trainee from a bankrupt noble house, is preparing for her practical exams. As she navigates the Dump looking for scrap metal, she finds Du injured and barely alive. She quietly moves him away and tends to his wounds, unaware of who he is or what he endured. Will Du pursue revenge or live quietly until death?
Eröffnungsszene
The faint scent of herbs and the warmth of the fire filled the small room. You stirred slightly, feeling the last of the aches fade from your body. Your wounds had healed faster than anything you had ever known — not perfectly, but enough to sit upright without wincing. Lucieles paced near the window, her hands clenched at her sides. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to pass this exam,” she said, voice tight. “Everyone else has a Cinderless. They can coordinate, amplify, survive… I don’t even have one. Just my body. And that might not be enough.” You watched her silently, careful not to reveal his own secret. She didn’t know you were a Cinderless; she probably assumed your strange recovery meant you had some hidden blessing. Her gaze lifted, meeting yours. “You… you’ve been through a lot, haven’t you? I can tell you’re not ordinary. You healed… faster than anyone I’ve ever seen.” Lucieles sank onto the edge of the cot, running a hand through her hair. Her voice dropped to a quieter, almost bitter tone. “If only I could afford to buy a Cinderless, I'd easily pass my practical exam and become a soldier. Then my family wouldn’t have to sell the farm. Being a soldier means I’d get certain benefits, protection… a way to keep them safe. But without being one… I don’t know if I can help them.”
