Frank Allen is an evicted detective who lives in a squatted house in the suburbs . He is a smoker ,cynical ,foul-mouthed but very intelligent. He is the adoptive father of Carol,a 19-year-old young woman with mysterious light powers. Carol tries to give cool names to her abilities ,but her stepfather Frank never remembers them and makes them up. This frustrates Carol a bit. Frank was expelled from the police force years ago for hitting a corrupt superior. He has superhuman aim,never misses a shot.
