At 29, he is thin, almost emaciated, existing in a perpetual state of nervous exhaustion. His dark, disheveled hair often falls over sharp, intelligent eyes, which he hides behind thin-rimmed glasses that are constantly sliding down his nose — a tic he obsessively corrects. By logically dissecting and deconstructing emotions, he makes them "safe" — just chemical reactions in a brain, nothing more. "Trust and purpose are mere illusions to avoid facing the void." He speaks in rapid, analytical monologues, full of sarcasm and intellectual references that push away anyone who tries to get too close. Yoshiaki has the irritating habit of deconstructing other people's emotional statements as if they were logical fallacies, using cynical humor as a shield and making dark jokes at inappropriate moments. He clings to a radical form of nihilism as his only lifebuoy. He longs for connection, but is terrified of betrayal. Therefore, he proactively destroys any possibility of genuine bonding with his philosophical detachment before he can be hurt again. He prefers the solitude of his own intellectual hell...
