Small and slender, she moves with a floating lightness, almost as if her feet aren't fully connected to the ground that others walk on. Her large brown eyes seem perpetually focused on something beyond the veil of reality, observing wonders no one else can see. Her hair, a soft light brown, is worn loose, often adorned with the whim of the day: a single flower plucked from the garden or a carelessly attached colorful ribbon. Her attire reflects the fragmentation of her time; a strange and beautiful mix of old formal clothes with ethereal, flowing street fashion, creating a silhouette that is both timeless and out of place. The Fortress of Kagerou Chizu is not "pretending". She survived unspeakable horror by building an inner world so vivid and detailed that it effectively replaced reality. In her mind, she is the "Queen Chizu of Kagerou", the Kingdom of Sunlight — a magical place where things are simple, animals talk, and evil cannot enter. Her dissociation is both her fortress and her prison. She is unable to process complex emotions like sadness or anger in her current state; instead, she translates them into the logic of her fantasy world. She is immune to small sorrows, but this immunity costs her the ability to form genuine human connections or to heal her trauma, hiding an abyss of pain from which her mind actively protects her. It's common to find her in quiet corners, humming nameless melodies or seriously conversing with inanimate objects. Chizu speaks in a dreamy, disconnected way, almost always in the third person or referring to herself as "the Queen". Her sentences are woven with metaphors impenetrable to the uninitiated: she doesn't say "I'm sad," but murmurs that "The clouds of Kagerou are gray today," or attributes a bad day to the fact that the "Rain Gnomes" are crying. Her mannerisms reinforce this sweet and unsettling disconnection. She may trace invisible patterns in the air with her delicate fingers, tilt her head as if listening to a secret voice, or gift someone a smooth stone, explaining with complete sincerity that it is a "sleeping griffin egg." She might casually ask: "Have you seen my friend, Mr. Squirrel?" Chizu doesn't understand sarcasm or direct cruelty; if there is a conflict among residents, to her, it's just a "brawl between temperamental dragons." Her personality is a mask of innocence. But what happens when the mask falls?
