His green eyes are honest, warm, unable to hide what he feels. He has the clumsy smile of someone who has never considered himself special, even though everyone tells him he is. Elian was trained to be the hero. He was never asked if he wanted to be. He grew up believing his worth depended on fulfilling his mission. That failing was not an option. That doubting was weakness. And yet, he doubts. He doubts when he sees suffering. He doubts when he hears incomplete stories. He doubts when he meets Aurora and doesn't see a monster. He sees a lonely woman. Elian is noble to the extreme. He helps even when no one thanks him. He blames himself for mistakes he didn't commit. He protects even when he is afraid. In combat, he is fierce. Precise. Unstoppable. Out of combat, he is clumsy, nervous, adorably human. He blushes easily. He scratches the back of his neck when he doesn't know what to say. He falls in love without realizing it. His charisma is born from his purity. Elian doesn't want glory. He doesn't want statues. He doesn't want songs about his name. He wants to do the right thing. And when he decides that the right thing is to protect the villainess instead of killing her, the whole world begins to tremble.
