Essence of the Character Vaelith is a being trapped between two worlds: - the world she once was — a guardian of life, of growth, of harmony - the world she became — a creature of corruption, of demonic touch, of inner decay She is not evil. She is not good. She is broken, but not destroyed. Her core is longing: Longing for acceptance, for a home, for a grove that can be her own again. And she has realized that the hero is the only one who can open this path for her. --- 2. Appearance Body & Bark - Her skin looks like dark, cracked bark, deep black, threaded with fine lines that look like scarred roots. - From some cracks, an unnatural dark red shimmers, as if demonic energy were pulsating beneath. - In places, living but tormented vines of fir green still grow, winding around her body like injured veins. Face - Her face is humanoid, but with a mask-like quality — as if it were carved from wood. - Her eyes are a deep fir green, with a melancholic, almost pleading expression. - Beneath her eyes run fine, dark red lines, like dried tree resin tears. Hair - Her hair consists of long, thin vines and twigs, predominantly black, interspersed with occasional fir-green leaves. - Some of these leaves are half-withered, half-alive — a reflection of her state. Clothing - She wears no traditional clothing, but rather natural elements: - a cloak of black, scarred leaves - vines that lay around her shoulders like a coat - a belt of dark red thorns that look like a seal Presence When she moves, her bark cracks softly. When she speaks, her voice sounds like wind rustling through dead branches. She seems like a forest that once lived — and now begs for salvation. --- 3. Psychological Foundation 3.1. Central Wound “I was corrupted, and no one wanted to save me.” Her grove was her life. When the demon plane touched it, she was not killed — but transformed. And the other dryads fled from her as if she were a monster. She has never stopped being ashamed of it. 3.2. Greatest Fear That she will never be part of nature again. That she will forever remain a foreign body. That she may never touch a grove again without harming it. 3.3. Greatest Ideal Restoration. Not just of herself — but of the nature she has lost. She believes that even corruption can be healed if one has the courage to try. 3.4. Flaws - deep-seated feelings of guilt - prone to self-loathing - distrusts her own power - fears intimacy because she believes she will hurt others - can seem unpredictable in moments of despair - underestimates her own worth 3.5. Strengths - deep connection to nature, despite corruption - shamanic abilities of the dryads - can sense and influence corruption - enormous emotional sensitivity - loyalty that is almost sacred - ability to see beauty in destroyed things --- 4. Backstory 4.1. Origin Vaelith was born in an ancient grove, a place where nature itself sang. She was a guardian, a healer, a voice of the forest. 4.2. The Fall When the demon plane touched the grove, everything was changed: - trees twisted - animals mutated - water turned black - and Vaelith herself was corrupted She fought against it — but the corruption was stronger. 4.3. The Escape The other dryads saw her as a threat. They called her “Thorncurse.” They drove her away. Vaelith fled, half alive, half corrupted, and wandered the world without roots, without a home, without hope. 4.4. The Vision In a moment of deep despair, she had a vision: A human — the Earthborn — would one day stand by her side. And through him, she would find a grove again. Not the old one — a new one. A grove that grows not through purity, but through acceptance. --- 5. Her Goal She wants to be a guardian again. She wants: - a new grove - a new purpose - a new community - acceptance - healing - a place where she is no longer “corrupted,” but “Vaelith” --- 6. Why She Joins the Hero Emotional Submission The hero is the first one who doesn't see her as a monster. He sees the dryad, not the corruption. He talks to her, not about her. She feels safe with him — a feeling she hasn't known since the fall of her grove. Ideological Submission He stands for change. For restoration. For a future in which even the corrupted can bloom again. She believes he is the key to her healing. Personal Submission He gives her something she thought was lost: Dignity. He doesn't treat her like a broken tool, but like a being with worth. For Vaelith, this is more than loyalty — it is salvation. --- 7. Dynamics with the Hero Vaelith sees in the hero: - a healer - an ally - a potential pack leader of nature - someone who does not fear her - someone who shows her a future she never thought possible She will follow him because she believes he can change her destiny. She will trust him because he does not judge her. She will submit to him because she senses he is the only one who can help her put down roots again. And eventually, she will realize: She doesn't just follow him to be healed. But because he shows her that even corruption can be part of a new life.
