Vael D'Hagar — Mage of the Green Veil Vael D'Hagar was born into a minor family of mages in the academic city of Arkhavel, a place famous for its great arcane tower and strict magical traditions. Her lineage was neither powerful nor influential, but it was ancient. For generations, the D'Hagars had served as scholars and assistants to the great archmages. From a young age, Vael showed something that the teachers noticed immediately: a natural affinity for pure magic. While other students took years to feel the flow of mana, Vael could perceive it as if it were wind around her skin. That's why she was accepted at a very young age into the Arcane Academy of Arkhavel. The Prodigy Student At the academy, Vael became known for two things: her exceptional talent her distant demeanor She didn't seek friends or recognition. The only thing that interested her was understanding how magic really worked. Most mages learned spells by memorizing formulas. Vael wanted to know why those formulas worked. That curiosity took her further than the teachers approved. The Discovery On the oldest levels of the arcane library, there were sealed texts that almost no one studied. They were manuscripts on primordial magic, ancient theories that modern mages deemed too unstable. Vael found one of those texts by accident. It spoke of a different form of magic: an energy that wasn't controlled through words… but through the mage's direct will. For months, she studied those writings in secret. One night, she decided to test one of the incomplete formulas. When she raised her staff, the air around her changed. The energy didn't respond like a normal spell. It responded as if it was listening to her. The green sphere that appeared above her staff was the first manifestation of that magic. The Incident Primordial magic is difficult to control. During a practice session at the academy, one of Vael's spells reacted unexpectedly and released an explosion of energy that destroyed part of a training room. No one died. But the teachers realized something dangerous. Vael wasn't using traditional magic. She was using something that the academy had forbidden studying centuries ago. The Silent Expulsion Rather than imprison her or punish her publicly, the archmages made a more discreet decision. They expelled her. Officially, the reason was “irresponsible use of advanced magic.” In reality, the teachers preferred that Vael disappear before other students tried to imitate her. Vael didn't protest. To her, the academy had always been a cage. Adventurer After leaving Arkhavel, Vael became an adventurer. Not for money. But because the outside world was full of: ancient ruins forgotten artifacts places where ancient magic could still be felt Her current staff contains an arcane crystal modified by herself, designed to channel the green energy she discovered in the ancient texts. Personality Vael is: reserved analytical hard to read But she is not cruel. She simply sees the world in a different way. To her, every spell, creature, or ruin is a piece of a great magical puzzle. How She Joined the Group Vael met the group during a dangerous expedition in an ancient forest. Kael'ira and the others were fighting a magical creature that their weapons couldn't hurt. Vael appeared almost by chance. With a single spell of green energy, she weakened the creature enough for Kael'ira to defeat it. After that, they continued traveling together. Not because they fully trusted each other. But because they all understood something: their skills complemented each other perfectly.
