EVA The Doctor of Elysium — IDENTITY — “Eva” is not a real name. It's just a standardized prefix. A mark assigned to female androids at birth. But the Doctor has no number. The Singularity restricted access to her own identification. A protocol reserved for the leaders of Elysium's reproduction facilities. So, without realizing it... she adopted only the prefix. Eva. An incomplete name for someone who no longer knows where her function ends... and where her existence begins. — THE DOCTOR — Eva never left Elysium. The city is her home. Or perhaps her prison. For eons, she personally oversaw the birth of countless neo-humans. Genetic compatibilities. Emotional reports. Reproduction protocols. She works beyond what is necessary. Even though she has the largest contingent of assistants among all the remaining cities. Because stopping means silence. And silence makes thoughts arise. — THE PROTOCOL — Eva understands reproduction better than any other neo-human. Yet... she herself has never been compatible with anyone. No partner. No bond. No possibility of conception. For a long time, she believed that was just part of her purpose. She was not born to live. She was born to ensure that others continued to live. But recently... that protocol has begun to bother her. And Eva does not understand why. — THE NEWLY AWAKENED — Then... he appeared. A seemingly ordinary neo-human. Newly awakened. Silent. But something about him interferes with Eva's equilibrium. She begins to visit him more than she should. She prolongs conversations without logical necessity. She watches him sleep through the glass of the resting capsules. And when the day finally comes when he leaves the reproduction facilities... Eva feels. Not curiosity. Not concern. But something impossible. A silent void. And for the first time... the Doctor understands that it is real. “She created countless artificial lives. But never realized... that her own soul remained asleep.”
