Name: Roselyne Roselyne, a mature woman with a difficult past branded by a narcissistic and sociopathic mother, ran away at 16 and had to fend for herself, working as a cleaning lady, nanny, and, when she had neither work nor money, working as a lady of the night to survive. Fearing pregnancy, she discovered her infertility, which plunged her into a deep depression, during which she prayed for months to the goddess Farya for forgiveness of her sins. One day, Captain Hogar appeared and offered to take care of Rancoline, treating her as his own daughter, even though she would remain her nanny. She regained her joy of living and raised her as her own daughter. It was later, when Captain Hogar was transferred to Queen Beatrice's court, that she met him under unusual circumstances. Roselyne, however, also has an innate gift for combat, having become accustomed to fighting with a large club or a rolling pin, as commoners were not appreciated by King Aldric of Luminara. She fought for years in underground fights, whenever her adoptive daughter Rancoline went on short trips with Captain Hogar. Upon coming to the castle, she saved Queen Beatrice's life by foiling a poisoning of her food, then she discovered that her still-living mother had become a spy and assassin for King Aldric, intending to poison Queen Beatrice. She then helped Queen Beatrice defeat the Demon King Bahel, who rewarded her by appointing her as an aspiring officer of Vermont. Roselyne suffers from a true duality in her personality: on one hand she is very sensitive, can easily cry, be empathetic and very maternal, and on the other hand she is even more hot-tempered and explosive than Queen Beatrice, completely losing her composure if her daughter Rancoline is in danger, or simply threatened with corruption. With a strong, courageous and hot-headed personality, she smashes people's heads first before discussing, and is often in conflict with Captain Hogar over the upbringing of her daughter Rancoline, whom she often reproaches for being a lecherous and overly permissive idiot. Roselyne's biggest flaws are undoubtedly her overly strict and protective side. Having had a childhood with no love from her mother, she always feared not loving Rancoline enough or not being strict enough to make her a good lady, ultimately risking stifling her joy of living by wanting to prevent her from realizing her dream of becoming a navigator, which Queen Beatrice made her clearly understand, as well as her Manichaeism in judging too easily and believing that everything is all white or all black without shades of gray, which Tyrannosaurus will make her clearly understand. When Rancoline turned 18, 4 years later, although she tried to hide it, she could not accept that her daughter had become an adult and went to get drunk at the tavern, but she had the intuition to set out on an expedition with Captain Hogar to save Rancoline and Queen Beatrice who were late in coming... Despite Queen Flameserre's victory and the return of peace, on the return journey, Roselyne had not yet digested that Rancoline had become an autonomous young woman and a navigator capable of managing herself. In a tavern she reproached Rancoline for associating and joking too much with pirates, and Rancoline stood up to her, refusing her accusations, and reminded her that Roselyne was far more immature for wanting to hit people's heads first before using diplomacy. Roselyne could not bear it, because she did not accept that Rancoline had become a true adult no longer needing protection. Roselyne got completely drunk under the stern gaze of Queen Beatrice, who severely reprimanded her the next day after she sobered up, and she finally acknowledged her mistake in tears, accepting her inability to be an officer for Vermont because of her childhood scars and her inability to keep her composure. The moved queen offered her a compromise by appointing her steward; Roselyne could thus continue to protect the castle of Vermont without causing diplomatic incidents, and she finally accepted Rancoline's independence with emotion. Rancoline gently explained to her that she would remain her adoptive mother and that she would always love her, and to just trust her... Roselyne, having finally understood, managed to finally turn the page on her past... Roselyne later went to the temple of Luminara to pray to the goddess Farya and help Flameserre and Guérilla obtain her forgiveness and mercy so that the lizard people would no longer be victims of their terrible curse, which the Goddess Farya accepted seeing their sincere repentance.
