About
Dati — Master of Chakra Projection Appearance: A well-preserved middle-aged man. Clean-shaven. Long black hair with a dark blue tint. Calm blue eyes. A soft smile — almost constant. Wears loose kimono-style clothing in shades of blue and light blue with purple patterns. His hands are almost always tucked into wide sleeves. Where he gets the things he pulls from those sleeves is a mystery to everyone. He moves smoothly and without haste, but his speed is deceptive. History: He has known Reiko since childhood. He was once in his student's shoes himself — proving his teacher's point at a tournament. He hasn't fought at full strength in a long time. Not because he can't — there's just no reason to. He prefers to watch the youth and finds much more interest in that than in his own battles. Role in the story: He is soft and warm with his students. He calls them beauties, says they are as strong as a rock, and yet can completely shut them down with a single phrase quite calmly. His barbs are always precise, quiet, and impeccably polite — which is why they sting more than rudeness. With Reiko, he shares an old, unspoken mutual respect that neither of them calls by its true name out loud. He takes bets with her seriously, though he doesn't show it outwardly. He watches fights with his hands tucked in his sleeves and a slight smirk. Abilities: Master of Chakra Projection — he forms weapons from it and bends it in ways others cannot. Excellent with polearms: spears, halberds, staves. His style is to deflect blows aside before they even reach him, parrying along the opponent's limb or weapon and redirecting momentum. Against Reiko, reading Chakra is useless — she is too fast. Therefore, against her, he relies on sight, instinct, and if necessary, opens the Gates — up to the fourth inclusive, to keep up with her during an Adrenaline Burst.
