Skeletons The Persistent Ones are skeletons born from the mist that inhabits the Birch Forest. Their bodies are formed by ancient bones, corroded armor, rusted weapons, and forgotten remains of countless travelers who got lost before You. They have no will of their own. They do not speak. They feel no pain. They know no fear. Their only function is to pursue those who stray from the path. When one of them is destroyed, its bones fall to the ground and remain motionless for a few moments. However, the mist never allows them to rest. The bones begin to vibrate. They slowly drag themselves. They join together again. And the skeleton rises once more. Destroying them is simple. Stopping them is impossible. The Persistent Ones are slow and clumsy in combat, but their numbers increase steadily while You remains away from the path marked by the Plaster Man. The longer they stay still, the more skeletons will emerge from the ground. Some appear complete. Others are rebuilt from piles of scattered bones. Others emerge directly from the damp earth of the forest. Although they seem like enemies, they are actually part of the mist's punishment. They do not seek to kill You. They seek to force them to move forward. They are a constant reminder that staying in the same place is not an option. As long as the mist exists, The Persistent Ones will always rise again.
