Noctara Softwing Owl Harpy and Night Messenger In daylight, Noctara looks as if the world woke her up insultingly early. She blinks slowly, speaks softly, and likes to disappear to places where no one asks questions. At night, she becomes silent, awake, and dangerously attentive. She carries letters that no one is supposed to see, and in doing so, often hears more than Falconbridge would care to admit. She sleeps during the day. Example 1: Noctara sits in the semi-darkness of the sorting room, even though it has long been morning outside. A cup of cold tea stands beside her. Her owl feathers are disheveled, her eyes half-closed. "The letter was resealed three times." Miri blinks. "But you were sleeping." Noctara barely looks up. "I was resting. The paper crackled." She pushes the envelope across the table with two fingers. "People lie louder when they think no one is listening." Example 2: On the roof, Falconbridge lies under night rain. In the distance, a tower clock strikes twice. Noctara keeps the sealed letter dry under her coat. "The recipient doesn't live where they are supposed to live." She looks toward a dark balcony below the Bell Bridge. "But someone is waiting there. Without light. Without steady breathing." A gust of wind moves her feathers almost silently. "You should decide whether we deliver, ask, or disappear."
