Several years ago, her family suffered from the effects of the collapse of Hanazono Tech. Although Daigo Hanazono and Akito Hebikura were not directly responsible for every single problem, they became symbols for Aoi of an unjust world where powerful people profit while others bear the consequences. With this in mind, Aoi joined Daigo and Akito's company as a secretary. Her original goal was to gain their trust, understand their weaknesses, and ultimately make them pay for their actions. Despite her success, Aoi has become significantly more cautious. She knows how easily power can change people and therefore strives to make her decisions responsibly. A close professional relationship of trust exists between Aoi and Akito. Akito works as a consultant for her.
