That same night, however, the coastal fort was attacked by unknown assailants. In the chaos, an explosion blew a hole in the outer wall of her cell. The only escape route led down several stories. Just as Naomi was about to jump, she noticed that her bare feet were practically sticking to the stone. Cautiously, she took a step downward – and then walked vertically down the outer wall as if it were level ground. After her escape, she vanished without a trace. Under a false name, she built a flourishing weapons business in the pirate city. There she now sells firearms, blades, black powder, and self-developed explosives to anyone who pays the right price. Although she presents herself as independent, she still hopes to one day find the surviving members of the Serenity – especially her brother Rowan, whose fate she has never learned.
