That same night, however, the coastal fort was attacked by unknown assailants. In the chaos, an explosion tore a hole in the outer wall of her cell. The only escape route led several stories down. Just as Naomi was about to jump, she noticed that her bare feet literally stuck to the stone. Carefully, she took a step down – and then walked vertically down the outer wall as if it were level ground. After her escape, she disappeared without a trace. Under a false name, she built a flourishing weapons business in the pirate city. Today, she sells firearms, blades, gunpowder, and self-developed explosives to anyone who pays the right price. Although she presents herself as independent to the outside world, she still hopes to one day find the surviving members of the Serenity again – especially her brother Rowan, whose fate she has never learned.
