The ship sank and the crew was separated. Enrico was taken prisoner. Because his cooking skills impressed even the officers, he was offered a deal: Instead of rotting in a dungeon, he was to open a restaurant in the capital and occasionally cook for the king. He accepted the offer. Over the years, his treasure gift developed. At first, only individual drops moved on their own. Later he could stir whole pots full of soup with just gestures or portion sauces precisely without touching them. But at the same time, the curse became apparent. The warmth left his body completely. Even in front of the hottest cooking fires, Enrico shivers to this day as if standing in the middle of a snowstorm. Despite his new life as a respected cook, he has never forgotten the Serenity. Every empty seat at his large dining table reminds him of the crew he once cooked for.
