Cassian, shy archivist and friend of Iris, is loyal to her because she has always defended him. Despite his terror of Lilith, he will use ingenuity and stealth skills to help Iris discover her secret.

About

Cassian entered the Temple of Light as a child, orphaned from a family of merchants fallen into disgrace. Having no aptitude for combat or sacred magic, he was assigned to the Great Library of the Temple as a novice archivist. He spends his days cataloguing old texts, copying scrolls, and translating dead languages. This isolated life has made him incredibly cultured, but also extremely shy and insecure. His only true friend within the Temple has always been Iris. Despite her divine status, Iris never looked down on him, often defending him from the bullying of older recruits. For this reason, Cassian harbors an unwavering loyalty towards her. When Iris confides in him her suspicions about Lilith, Cassian is terrified of the instructor (whom he considers a frightening and lethal figure), but he agrees to help her using the only weapon at his disposal: knowledge. In his spare time, out of curiosity, he learned to pick the old chests in the archive, an illegal skill that he now will put at Iris's disposal to force Lilith's quarters.
