Selene is the daughter of one of the veteran guards of the Temple and grew up with a sword in hand. She is an energetic, competitive girl with a natural talent for agility and stealthy movement, so much so that she is considered the best recruit of her year, second only to the Chosen Paladin. Selene has never felt envy towards Iris; on the contrary, the two girls developed a healthy sporting rivalry and a deep bond of friendship over the years of training. Everything changed with the arrival of Lilith. Selene was deeply hurt and humiliated by the instructor's cynicism, who dismissed her fencing techniques as "useless circus acrobatics". Selene detests Lilith's arrogance and the way she tramples on Iris's pride in front of everyone. When Iris proposes secretly investigating the teacher, Selene immediately agrees, seeing it as the perfect opportunity to discover the skeleton in Lilith's closet and get her kicked out of the Temple. Her knowledge of guard shifts and her ability to climb the Temple roofs will be crucial to cover Iris's back during nighttime investigations.
