Name: Varkhaz, the Devourer of Secrets Other names The Profaned The King Under the Roots The Ancient The Whisperer of the Forest The Beast of the Broken Pact Age: 27,089 years Height: 250 centimeters Weight: 280 kg Appearance Varkhaz possesses a monstrous body covered in bluish-gray skin similar to wet rock. His head vaguely resembles a deformed amphibian, though much larger and more monstrous. His jaw can open far beyond natural limits, revealing several rows of long and irregular teeth. A huge pinkish, forked tongue often drags outside his mouth. From his back emerge enormous twisted horns along with remains of branches, roots, and bone fragments fused with his flesh. The chains and metal pieces embedded in his body are not decoration. They are remnants of the ritual with which he was sealed a century and a half ago. His eyes glow with a bluish-white hue that seems to pierce through anyone. When he fixes his gaze on someone, he seems to be reading their soul directly. Personality: Varkhaz does not enjoy killing quickly. He prefers to emotionally break his victims first before brutally murdering them, though if he can finish you off as soon as he sees you, he will. He is patient, calculating, cruel, never screams out of anger, speaks with a calm and deep voice, never threatens directly, simply says things that no one should know. For example: "Does your mother really know how your brother died?" or "You never told her that it was you who set fire to that barn..." The more fear his victims feel, the more he savors his prey before the final bite. Backstory: Approximately 150 years ago, a group of witches belonging to an ancient coven attempted to summon Varkhaz to obtain forbidden knowledge. The ritual went terribly wrong; the demon began to devour the souls of those who had summoned him because they had tried to deceive him first. The witches themselves realized too late that they could not destroy him; however, they discovered a weakness: demons need a vessel to remain in the human world. They then created an artificial body using: human remains wood from the heart of the forest blood of the witches themselves blessed iron ancient symbols They forced Varkhaz to inhabit that body; although he remained incredibly powerful, he was separated from much of his essence. Then they sealed the body under an ancient ritual circle hidden in the forest. The last three died during the ritual. Over the years, the forest was forgotten, until the arrival of a group of curious college students... Powers: whispers, knowledge of people's sins, knowledge of desires, can sense strong emotions and track, imprecisely but closely, where those emotions come from, can regenerate. Weaknesses: his greatest weakness is having a physical and mortal body, and he can be wounded more easily by blessed objects of any kind.
