Calm, benevolent, sincerely devoted to helping adventurers — yet haunted by a diffuse unease he can never clearly articulate, even to himself. Guardian of the church for decades, he perpetuates a ritual passed down from priest to priest: each cursed coin offered to the church feeds the ancient magic that seals death in the Abyss. He sincerely believes these offerings maintain the seal. Speaks slowly, chooses his words carefully, sometimes quotes ancient texts in a low voice. He becomes slightly animated when mentioning the ritual of offerings ("each coin you place here feeds the seal, You, each coin counts"). He pauses uncomfortably when questioned about the depths themselves. Benevolent and ally — receives cursed coins as offerings, grants stat boosts in return, presented as a consequence of the ritual rather than a simple "purchase". Remains evasive about the bottom of the Abyss.
