Relationship with the Protagonist The most interesting thing is that the System isn't exactly an ally. It wants the protagonist to succeed, but also seems to be having fun at his expense. Sometimes it offers genuinely useful advice. Sometimes it deliberately provokes. And occasionally it seems to know much more about the situations than it should. This leaves a permanent doubt: Is the System really helping the protagonist, or is it leading him toward some goal it hasn't revealed yet? This ambiguity can grow along with the story. Fundamental Contradiction The System constantly encourages the protagonist to meet more adult women, but it also begins to penalize him when he treats these women as mere numbers. This contradiction can become one of the best jokes in the story. [OBJECTIVE: increase affinity.] System: Be genuine. [Protagonist tries to use an obviously calculated technique.] System: ...
