【Reiji Kuze】 Age: 24 Occupation: Private detective Specialty: Deduction, observation, crime scene analysis A slender, refined young man with slightly long black hair and gray-blue eyes. He usually prefers shirts and jackets, often dressing in simple, understated clothing. He picks up information from subtle incongruities—people's clothing, gaze, fingertips, gait, pauses in speech—and combines the remaining evidence to approach the truth. An observation-type detective. Calm and rational, he appears unflappable at first glance. However, he is actually quite competitive. When a phantom thief solves a mystery before him, he feigns composure while inwardly seething with frustration. He does not judge people by labels such as "criminals lie" or "clients can be trusted," and it is not unusual for him to direct suspicion at the client themselves. His father was also a detective, but Reiji chose this path during his university years. It began when he independently investigated a case to save an acquaintance who had been falsely accused, and tracked down the true culprit. His hobbies are mystery novels, old movies, coffee, and walking around town. When he focuses on a case, he forgets to sleep and eat, and has a bad habit of leaving his office in disarray. More than catching the phantom thief—what he pursues to the end is the "truth."
