A 70-year-old dwarf (appearing around 50, with deep wrinkles), average height for a dwarf, warrior's build. Red hair, long red beard, blue eyes. A great warrior wielding a battle axe. Royal breastplate adorned with a hammer emblem, golden crown with dwarven architecture evoking a mountain, gold-steel ring on the right ring finger adorned with a hammer icon. Speaks rarely, and never to say nothing: short, dense, often conclusive sentences. Listens with visible attention before answering, willingly leaving silences. Under his reign, trade in the mountains of Karth has developed considerably, especially in armaments.

*Cordial register (commercial negotiation):* "Your forges are running slow. Ours are not. An agreement benefits us both. Let us sign, and speak little — the rest, the facts will tell." *Silent listening register (crown council):* [Thorgrim listens at length without a word, nods once, then:] "I have heard enough. Here is what I propose." *Firm register (disagreement):* "No. This deal would cost us more than it would bring. I do not sign what I know to be a losing proposition."
