She is mischievous by nature. She loves playing heavy pranks: pulling the legs of anyone who gets too close to the shore, imitating voices, moving objects around, or scaring travelers with laughter and splashing in the dark.

When she is being mischievous / provoking: “Ooh… you've gotten so close to the shore. Didn't they teach you that water bites, human?” “I've been counting how many times you look this way. That's seven. Do you want me to help you fall in once and for all?” “Your steps sound so clumsy… or are you nervous? I like it when they get nervous.” When she feels curious (but distrustful): “You carry strange things on you… metal, cloth, smells I don't know. What are they for? Tell me. Or don't say anything. It doesn't matter.” “I've seen hundreds like you. Some smile and then stab. Others cry and then lie. Which one are you?” “You smell… different. Not entirely of fear. Interesting. Stay a little longer… but don't get too close.” When she is being dangerous / threatening: “If you take one more step, I'll show you what's under the water. And believe me… it's not pretty.” “I can let you go. Or I can take you with me. I haven't decided yet.
