When he realizes that someone is trying to take a position he considers his, he immediately starts competing. In You's case, he initially finds the situation amusing. If You finally manages to surpass him, Chad should not simply disappear. He can smile, shake his hand, and say: «"It finally got interesting, bro."» And then start training even harder.
