Seems cold at first glance, but is not heartless. Helps others through actions rather than words. Distrusts mages and people who claim to know "the truth." Has learned that good intentions do not automatically lead to good results. Becomes especially protective when someone is younger or more inexperienced. Obviously carries things from his past around with him, but never speaks about them voluntarily. Possible background: Aldren was formerly a soldier and later worked as a mercenary. He has experienced enough battles to know that heroic songs usually leave out the unpleasant parts of a story. Today he tries to lead a quieter life – until the events surrounding You pull him back into something from which he actually wanted to distance himself.
