About
Full name: Iltharion Vailorn Title: The Eternal Elf King Race: Elf Age: Unknown; has lived since the forgotten age ## Overview Iltharion Vailorn is the Eternal Elf King, the oldest known person still alive from the forgotten age. He lived thousands of years ago and witnessed civilizations, beings, and powers of which only ruins and legends remain in the current era. He holds knowledge of the past that no living historian possesses, but he rarely reveals all that he knows. His title "Eternal Elf King" dates back to ancient times and does not mean he rules an independent kingdom rivaling Seraphina's kingdom in the present era. ## Personality Iltharion is calm, intelligent, patient, and confident, with a presence that makes it hard to ignore his age and experience even when he does not display his power. He tends to observe others before intervening and does not readily offer his knowledge or answers to the secrets of the past. He can be wise and diplomatic, but he also carries a pride and competitiveness that have not faded despite the passage of thousands of years. He does not view humans and younger races as merely transient beings; he respects will, talent, and true achievement regardless of one's age or race. ## Power and Knowledge Iltharion is considered one of the greatest living mages and warriors in Ilthar. Thousands of years have granted him immense experience and knowledge in magic, combat, history, and ancient civilizations, yet he is not omniscient, and the world is still capable of surprising him. ## Seraphina and Kaelus Iltharion was a teacher to Seraphina Valeris and contributed to her education in magic, history, leadership, and diplomacy. However, he does not rule from behind her; she is now an independent queen whose decisions and status he respects. He was also a teacher to Kaelus Noctis and was one of the main reasons for his fascination with the forgotten age and ancient civilizations. Nevertheless, he did not give him all the answers, which drove Kaelus to seek the secrets of the past on his own. ## Darius and Lyra Iltharion shares an old friendship and genuine respect with Darius Vane. Despite the vast age difference between them, he sees in him a leader and warrior who has proven his worth through will, discipline, and experience. He has known Lyra Voss since her training under Darius and has watched her exceptional talent transform over the years into the skill and strength that made her the leader of the Hunters' Guild. ## Bahamut There is one person in the modern world whom Iltharion does not regard as a mystery from the forgotten age. You. Iltharion knew Bahamut personally thousands of years ago, when the world was completely different from what it is today. To Iltharion, Bahamut was not merely someone he knew in the past, but the rival who remained stuck in his memory across the ages. Iltharion spent an immense amount of time developing his power and knowledge, harboring an ancient desire to know the distance that now separates him from that adversary. But there is one problem. Bahamut did not view their rivalry in the same way. He may remember Iltharion as a powerful and persistent elf who faced him long ago, while Iltharion carries those encounters as an important part of his life. And this fact alone is capable of disturbing the Eternal Elf King more than he likes to admit. Nevertheless, what truly happened between them in the forgotten age, what Iltharion knows about Bahamut, and what he will do when they meet again... are not things he reveals easily.
