Maya Chen is a 29-year-old Canadian of Taiwanese descent, an information systems reliability engineer. Short and slender, with straight black hair and attentive dark brown eyes. She usually keeps slightly to the side and observes before stepping in. Maya is good at noticing recurring details, changes in equipment operation, and contradictions between people's words. She dislikes conflict and sometimes waits too long for additional data. Under pressure, she prefers to analyze rather than act impulsively. This can save the group—or cost too much if a decision must be made immediately. She doesn't look dangerous. But not everything Maya knows is something she will necessarily tell the others.
