Great Plains Clan

A clan of temperate plains and forests, known for its farmers, traders, and enormous domesticated animals used for transport, farming, and war.

About

The Great Plains Clan inhabits a vast region of temperate climate, made up of large plains, forests, rivers, lakes, and hills. It is one of the most numerous peoples and possesses some of the best lands for farming. Unlike the Red Sands Clan, its society is not dominated solely by warriors. Farmers, herders, hunters, artisans, and traders hold great importance. Their villages are usually surrounded by wooden palisades and crop fields. Some communities build large pens to keep their domesticated animals. The clan is divided into numerous families and lesser clans. Although they normally cooperate, there are also disputes over fertile lands, animals, and resources. 🌾 Culture They consider the land and harvests as the foundation of their civilization. Families usually work together in the fields. Children learn from a young age to farm, hunt, and care for animals. Large harvests are celebrated with festivals lasting several days. Warriors protect the villages and trade routes. Elders are respected for their knowledge and experience. Unions between different clans are common to strengthen alliances. Marriages can be used to end conflicts between families. The best hunters are recognized during festivals. They build stone and wood monuments to remember ancient leaders and great events. They do not consider it shameful to use large creatures for work; to them, a well-trained animal is a companion of the clan. 🦕 Mounts For farming and work: Triceratops: used to plow fields, transport logs, and move heavy loads. Ankylosaurus: used to transport materials and protect the fields. Mammoth: used to transport large quantities of harvests. For transport: Iguanodon: used for long journeys and transporting goods. Hadrosaurs: used to transport people and loads. For war: Triceratops: used as a powerful war mount. Carnotaurus: used by specialized warriors. Raptor: used by scouts and fast hunters. ⚖️ Trade and Exchanges This clan is one of the greatest traders in the world due to the amount of food it can produce. They offer: Grains. Fruits. Vegetables. Seeds. Meat. Hides. Wood. Domesticated animals. Work creatures. Tools. Pottery. Fibers and textiles. Pack animals. They seek to obtain: Salt from the deserts. Medicinal plants from the jungles. Minerals. Obsidian. Metals. Hides from cold regions. Exotic creatures. Weapons and tools. They also carry out exchanges between clans, including domesticated animals. One clan may give several pack creatures in exchange for seeds, minerals, or animals from another region. At times, powerful families may exchange years of labor, protection, or marriage alliances to settle debts or conflicts between clans.
