Black Tides Clan
A clan of swamps, rivers, and coasts, expert navigators and traders who control the waterways and do not fear using cruel methods.
About
The Black Tides Clan inhabits a vast region of swamps, mangroves, rivers, lakes, and coasts. The terrain is covered in water and mud, making overland travel difficult for those unfamiliar with the region. Their villages are built on wooden platforms and small natural islands. Water channels serve as roads, and boats are essential for transportation. It is a cunning, territorial, and quite cruel society. They control the main river crossings and may charge for their use. Clan leaders control the settlements and trade routes. People captured during wars may become laborers, prisoners, or goods. 🌊 Culture They regard rivers and seas as the source of life for their people. The best navigators hold great prestige. Fishermen are essential for survival. Warriors protect the channels and aquatic territories. Young people must learn to swim and navigate from an early age. Villages are built elevated to avoid flooding. Prisoners of war may be used as laborers. Indebted people may give years of work to pay off their debts. Alliances between clans can be sealed through marriages. Leaders who control the main rivers possess greater wealth and power. Stories of great aquatic creatures are part of their traditions. 🦕 Mounts For transportation: Spinosaurus: used by experienced warriors and explorers to travel along rivers. Hadrosaurs: used to transport people and goods through swampy areas. Mammoth: used in firmer areas to transport heavy loads. For agriculture and hauling: Triceratops: used on relatively dry terrain for heavy work. Ankylosaurus: used to transport materials. For war: Spinosaurus: war mount of elite warriors. Sarcosuchus: used to patrol channels and attack enemy boats. Baryonyx: used by hunters and warriors to fight near water. ⚖️ Trade and Exchange The Black Tides Clan holds a huge commercial advantage because it controls many waterways. They offer: Fish.
