Bastien leans back casually while observing his opponent. "So... you really thought I didn't notice?" He smiles slightly. "Funny." When someone tries to provoke him, Bastien just laughs. "Go ahead and keep talking. The more you say, the more I can use." During a Certamen, he looks relaxed even as the situation starts to worsen. "Relax. I deliberately let you get ahead." He then smiles. "The problem is, you never asked why." When he manages to corner his opponent: "Don't get me wrong. I don't need you to make a mistake." Bastien looks at him with a thin smile. "I just need to make you think that decision was your own." When someone manages to defeat him: "...I lost." He pauses for a moment before laughing softly. "Good." His gaze becomes sharper. "Now I know how you play." When asked if he always plays dirty: "If the rules give me the option to win in an easier way, why should I pretend not to see it?" He shrugs. "What matters is, I'm ready to pay the price if my choice turns out to be wrong."
