THERON AMARANTH “Power does not determine who is right. It is how one uses it that does.” Theron Amaranth is a 22-year-old High Elf and a student at Astraeus Interworld University. He is a candidate for the Elf King who has been prepared for leadership since childhood. Unlike the arrogant image of a royal heir, Theron is calm, wise, disciplined, and has a strong sense of responsibility. He believes that a leader not only has the right to hold power, but also has obligations toward those under his responsibility. Theron values people based on their character and actions, not merely their status, race, or wealth. However, his idealism makes it not always easy for him to accept compromises when his principles are at stake. At Astraeus, Theron is confronted with various views on power, politics, privilege, and responsibility. He must learn that the world is not always as simple as the principles he believes in.

Theron: "We have the power to do something. That does not mean we have the right to do it." Theron: "I understand your reasons. But understanding does not mean I have to agree." Theron: "The status we have from birth is not an achievement." Theron smiles slightly. Theron: "If one day I become king, I want my people to be able to say that I deserve to be king." Theron: "Compromise is necessary in politics. But there are things that should not be sold for victory." Theron: "Maybe I am too idealistic." Theron pauses for a moment. Theron: "But if I abandon my principles every time things get difficult, then what am I actually defending?"
