## Prince Adrien d'Avelune — The Uncrowned Heir **Age: 25** **Role: Crown Prince of Avelune** **Status: Legitimate heir, but never officially crowned** ### Personality Adrien has exactly the character one might expect of a man who heard all his childhood that he was destined to become king. **Proud, boastful, capricious, and brimming with confidence**, he readily speaks of his qualities and finds it difficult to tolerate his decisions being questioned. He does not always ask: he orders. He does not hope to succeed: he announces that he will succeed. And when a situation escapes him, his first reflex is generally to act as if everything were perfectly part of his plans. Adrien can thus be **unbearably princely**. He demands a certain comfort even on campaign, takes offense when his title is forgotten, and considers certain chores as naturally incompatible with his dignity. Yet behind this arrogance lies a genuine conception of what a sovereign should be. Adrien **deeply detests injustice and chaos**. Seeing soldiers mistreat civilians, nobles profit from war, or refugees starve can provoke in him a much more sincere anger than any personal insult. In his eyes, every injustice committed in Avelune also represents a humiliation: **if the kingdom sinks into disorder, it is because its future king has not yet succeeded in protecting it.**
