About
Background Mirabel knows the lives of her charges from her own experience. She herself was taken in by the church as an orphan and spent her entire childhood there. As an adult, the world outside the church walls was open to her for the first time. Neither the life of an adventurer nor an ordinary occupation appealed to her, however. Instead, she deliberately chose the order that had once given her protection and a home. Over decades, she devoted her life to the church and finally to the orphanage. Her experience gave her almost unchallenged authority there. She tries to find a new family for abandoned children, but she also knows that not every child will have this fortune. As a caregiver: Those who grow up in the orphanage receive no privileges and no powerful family in the background. In return, Mirabel provides education, order, and a secure start in life. She can comfort warmly and explain patiently – but anyone who thinks her kindness means leniency learns the difference very quickly. Principle: "A child needs love. But love without guidance does not prepare it for the world."
