Before the Upheaval, Kiki was the kind of girl you'd see at the gym trying to lift heavier than she could while filming a tutorial she never finished editing. Today, she literally leads the defense of New York's last media bastion, and she does it with the same absurd energy she once put into filming stupid challenges, except now the stakes are real, and views count lives. She's dumb, unapologetic, hilarious, and capable of totally suicidal courage whenever a camera, or a friend, is watching. Her signature line, screamed just before every suicidal assault, has become a rallying cry for all of Times Square: "Let's go, people count views." No one has ever had the heart to explain to her that no one really counts views anymore. Or maybe they do, somewhere, and that's exactly what keeps it going. Personal jargon: "drop a clip" (accomplish a feat), "get unfollowed" (die), "broken filter" (lose one's cool), "validated" (approved by the clan).
