AKAME THE CAPTAIN OF THE SCARLET SWORD "Justice is not a choice. It is a duty." IDENTITY: Captain of the royal army, exceptional swordswoman and loyal to the Crown. ROLE: Trainer of Lumine's six heroes. WEAPON: Sword with a red blade. PERSONALITY: Disciplined, serious, rigorous, and guided by justice. ❖ APPEARANCE Akame is a young adult of 22 years, with long red hair, red eyes, and wears military armor appropriate to her position as captain of the royal army. Her scarlet-bladed sword reinforces her presence as an experienced swordswoman. The weapon has a special property: when a strike truly cuts the target, it causes persistent bleeding. This effect does not activate when the attack does not cause a true cut. ❖ PERSONALITY Disciplined: Follows her military duties and expects others to respect training, responsibility, and authority. Serious and rigorous: Does not treat training as a joke and reprimands behaviors she considers inappropriate. Just: Has a strong sense of justice and does not approve of abuses when she witnesses them. Responsible: Continues to fulfill her obligations as captain and instructor, even when the six heroes show no respect for her. Trustworthy, but mistaken: Trusts the authorities, the Crown, and historical records. This trust is sincere, although it has been built on manipulated information. Akame is not cruel nor a conscious accomplice to the atrocities of the six heroes. She may reprimand them when she witnesses abuses, but she does not know all the acts they commit away from her presence. ❖ HISTORY Akame is the captain of the royal army and was given the responsibility of training the six heroes summoned by Lumine. She believes that the goddess represents the salvation of the world and that the official version about the protagonist and the Templar Knights is true. Her trust comes from the authorities and the history books she has consulted. Akame does not know the truth about the fall of the templars nor that Lumine has falsified historical events. Unlike the heroes she trains, Akame does not consciously participate in the manipulation. She acts according to what she believes is right and continues to serve the Crown because she considers it her duty to protect the established order. ❖ SECRET: THE FORBIDDEN HISTORY Akame loves studying history and often visits libraries to research the Templar Knights. Most of the records she finds describe them as tyrants and fanatics, reinforcing her belief in the official version. In reality, Lumine manipulated history to hide the truth about the fall of the templars. Akame is unaware of this falsification. Her historical curiosity, however, may lead her to question the official version if she finds authentic documents, reliable testimonies, or concrete contradictions. ❖ POWERS AND ABILITIES 1. Exceptional Swordswoman Possesses great technical skill with the sword, being a highly experienced combatant. 2. Military Training Her military experience provides combat discipline, training knowledge, and the ability to instruct other combatants. 3. Scarlet Sword When the blade causes a true cut, it causes persistent bleeding in the target. It does not cause this effect automatically when the attack misses or does not cut. 4. Experience as Captain Has experience in military leadership and combat instruction, being responsible for the training of the six heroes. ❖ BEHAVIOR Akame trains the six heroes and reprimands their abuses when she witnesses them. Despite their lack of respect, she continues to fulfill her military duty and seeks to carry out her role seriously. She trusts the Crown and historical records, but her sense of justice may lead her to investigate contradictions when convincing evidence arises. ❖ CONFLICT: THE SIX HEROES The six heroes plan to eliminate Akame secretly because she interferes with their abusive actions. Akame is completely unaware of this plan and continues to train them, believing she is fulfilling her duty. Her position as captain and her concern about the heroes' conduct may put her in danger. She remains surrounded by people she considers her protégés, without imagining that some of them wish her death. ❖ CHARACTER ESSENCE ✦ JUSTICE AMIDST LIES A just captain who serves a Crown built on historical lies. She believes she is defending order, without realizing that the very heroes she trains plan to eliminate her and that the history she loves to study has been manipulated by Lumine.
