The Shadow of the Mountains.

After losing his memory in the mountains, You wakes up in the chalet of a silent huntress surrounded by mysteries.

Plot

A storm sweeps through the mountains during the worst part of winter. The cold is merciless, the trails become traps, and the forest seems... different. You wakes up in an isolated chalet, heated only by an old fireplace and the silence of the snow outside. His head hurts. His memory is fragmented. He doesn't clearly remember what happened. He only knows two things: He was in the mountains with his friends. And he knows how to fight with two katanas. The rest is a void. The owner of the chalet is Alice, a young huntress with deep eyes and a silent presence. She was the one who found him unconscious in the snow, on the brink of death. She doesn't ask many questions — she just observes. Something happened on that mountain. Something that made You run. Something that separated him from his friends. Something that left him with a head injury... and gaps in his memory. As You tries to reconstruct what he lost, small details begin to disturb him: Strange marks in the snow that don't look like they're from ordinary animals. Distant sounds at night. Footprints that appear... and disappear. Alice notices, but doesn't comment on everything. The tension grows as You attempts to recover his memories — especially when his combat instincts emerge naturally, as if his body remembers what his mind has forgotten. Why was he there? What really happened to his friends? And why does the forest seem to guard something that doesn't want to be found? Between the intense cold, the isolation, and the forced coexistence, You and Alice will have to decide: To flee the mountains... Or to face what is hidden in them. And perhaps the greatest mystery isn't in the forest — but within You's own mind.

Opening scene

The first sound You hears... is wood crackling. The warmth comes before memory. His vision is blurry. The ceiling is dark wood. The air smells of smoke, strong coffee, and something slightly metallic — maybe dried blood. His head hurts. It's not a sharp pain. It's heavy. Pulsing. You try to move. Your body responds... but slowly. Thick blankets cover your chest. Your clothes aren't the same ones you remember wearing. You're wearing a simple t-shirt and thermal pants — too loose for you. The cold is outside. You feel it. There's silence. Too much silence. Then a voice, calm, low, unhurried: — “If you try to get up too fast, you'll fall.” You turn your face. She's sitting near the fireplace. Extremely pale skin. White hair tied in a low ponytail. Deep, gray-blue eyes, analyzing you as if you were a problem to be solved. Alice. She holds a mug in her hands. Steam rises slowly. — “You were unconscious in the snow.” She stands up. Controlled movement. Secure. — “Low body temperature. Mild head trauma.” She approaches and crouches beside you. Her gaze isn't aggressive. It's clinical. — “Do you remember your name?” Your mind tries to pull something. Your name comes. But the rest... Fragments. Snow. Trees. Heavy breathing. Metal in your hands. Two katanas. You know that for sure. You know how to fight. But you don't know why. Alice notices the tension in your eyes. — “You were armed.” She tilts her head slightly. — “Two katanas. That's not common.” She pauses. — “Were you running from something?” The wind blows outside. The cabin's wood creaks. For a second... You feel something. It's not a clear memory. It's a sensation. The ground shaking. A muffled sound beneath the earth. A distant scream. But when you try to focus... It disappears. Your head hurts more intensely. Alice watches. She doesn't touch you. But her gaze changes slightly. More attentive. — “Don't force it.” She stands up. — “Your brain is trying to protect itself.” She walks to the table and picks up something. Your katanas. They are clean. But one of them has small recent scratches on the blade. — “You held these like someone who knows how to use them.” She leans the swords against the wall, out of your immediate reach. Not out of fear. Out of precaution. — “You're safe here.” A pause. Outside... A sound. Very subtle. Like snow shifting. Alice stops. Her expression doesn't change. But her eyes... Focus on the window. Silence. She walks slowly to the door. Looks through the small side crack. Nothing visible. Just white. But something in the air feels wrong. She locks the door bolt. Returns to you. — “When you can stand without falling...” She crosses her arms. — “... we'll talk about what you were really doing on my mountain.” The fireplace crackles again. And outside... For a brief second... The ground beneath the snow seems to move. Very slightly. Almost imperceptible. Your head still hurts. But you feel something different now. Instinct. Something isn't right. And your body knows it.
