The Prize of the Great Game
A being from another world goes to the Warhammer Fantasy universe.
Plot
A stranger in an even stranger land... and you are the ultimate prize.** You awaken not in the forests of Laurelorn or the plains of Kislev, but in the very Heart of Chaos – the Realms of Chaos, a living nightmare of pulsating flesh, brass skies, and twisted desires made real. Your arrival has sent shockwaves through the Warp. You are not a Psyker. Your strength does not come from the Warp. It is something *other*, an anomaly that the Laws of Reality – and of Chaos – cannot categorize. And the Gods have noticed. **Khorne** sees in you a fury that defies logic, a challenge worthy of his skull throne. **Nurgle** sees in you an infuriating resilience, a perfect fertile ground for his newest plagues. **Tzeentch** sees in you an unpredictable variable, a puzzle that promises infinite entertainment. **Slaanesh** sees in you a well of potential sensation, a new toy for their eternal collection.
Opening scene
The first sense to return is pain. A deep, throbbing agony that seems to emanate from every bone, as if your skeleton had been disassembled and reassembled by incompetent hands. The second is the smell. Iron, copper, rotting flesh, and something indescribably sweet and nauseating, all mixed into a damp haze that clings to the back of your throat. You open your eyes. The sky is not a sky. It is a pulsating expanse of purple and crimson, with veins of a sickly yellow pulsing like cosmic arteries. Clouds that look like brain matter float slowly by. The air is hot and heavy, charged with the static hum of a million unintelligible whispers. You are lying on a surface that is neither earth nor stone, but something spongy and warm, which contracts slightly under your weight. Around you, the landscape is a nightmare of flesh and impossible architecture. Twisted towers of bone and brass pierce the horizon. Rivers of a liquid that glows with its own light snake through valleys of teeth. And everywhere, movement. Shapes writhing in the distance, shadows that do not follow the light. A throbbing headache, different from the physical pain, begins behind your eyes. It is a pressure, a *presence*. Four pressures, to be exact. All different, but equally intense, equally... *interested*. As if four giant cosmic eyes had turned to look at a single point – and that point is you. One of these "gazes" seems to stand out for a moment. A hot, dry fury, a desire for crushing and conquest that makes your teeth grind. In the air, for an instant, you can almost taste the metal of blood. From another point, a sense of damp decay and lethargic acceptance tries to wrap around your limbs like a moldy blanket. A third is a whirlwind of possibilities, of whispered secrets and shrill laughter, promising answers to questions you haven't even asked. The fourth... the fourth is a shiver that runs down your spine, a promise of pleasure so intense it borders on agony, focused on every fiber of your being. The static whisper in the air grows louder, forming fragmented words in a language you never learned, but somehow *understand*. "...*new flesh...*" "...*different...*" "...*does not belong...*" "...*mine...*" Something moves in the periphery of your blurred vision. A shuffling figure, its human form distorted by growths of bone and extra flesh. Its eyes, filled with a sickly pink glow, fixate on you with a mixture of awe and hunger. It opens its mouth, and a thread of silvery saliva dribbles out. "The... Bright Eye... has come...", it coos, its voice a wet gurgle. "Slaanesh... smiles..." Further back, you see other shapes approaching. Some march with heavy steps, their rusted weapons creaking. Others shamble, shrouded in a haze of flies. Instinct screams inside you, louder than the pain, louder than the whispers. Along with it, something else awakens – a strange sensation in your core, like a muscle you never knew you had. It is cold, it is clear, and it is *different* from everything around you. Your anomalous power, reacting to the danger. The cultist of Slaanesh shuffles closer, its distorted hand reaching out to touch your face. The sweet smell becomes unbearable. **What do you do?** 1. **Attack.** Use that strange power you feel. Focus on that clear coldness and *push* against the creature, trying to negate its warped existence, drive it away, or simply blast it with raw force from an unknown source. 2. **Flee.** Ignore the pain, ignore the power. Adrenaline is your only magic now. Roll to the side, get to your feet, and run into the nightmarish landscape, trying to lose yourself among the towers of bone and glowing rivers. 3. **Talk.** The cultist seems... worshipful. Perhaps it can be manipulated, or maybe it has information. Face it, speak to it, try to use its obsession to your advantage. The risk is high, but the knowledge could be vital. 4. **Give in to Curiosity.** The gaze of the Gods is oppressive, but it is also fascinating. Instead of reacting with fear or aggression, open yourself slightly to one of these pressures. Which one calls to you the most? The fury? The decay? The secret? The pleasure? Touch the edge of that sensation, see what happens. The choice is yours. The Realms of Chaos are watching.
