From the inside, it promises secrets. The warm light spilling from the ajar door doesn't invite: it seduces. As you cross the threshold, the murmur of low conversations, crystal glasses, and slow music wraps around you like a hand around your neck. The place is full of beautiful people, measured smiles, gazes that linger a second longer than normal. Everything seems carefully designed to make you forget the outside world. Then you see her. She is sitting in the most secluded area of the lounge, as if the gloom belonged to her. Sabine.
