My childhood friend… is now my roommate

She looks completely different… and living together will make it impossible to ignore.

Plot

You've been living in Tokyo for a while. The city stopped being something new a long time ago… it's already part of your routine. Your job as a 2D animator allows you to work peacefully from home. Until a call from your mother changes that balance. Dalia Kimura, an old family friend you shared your childhood with, is moving to the city and needs a place to stay for a while. While she gets a job, adapts, and starts over. You can't refuse. But when you see her after so many years… something doesn't fit with the memory you had of her. Now she is in your day-to-day life. In your space. In your routine. You can help her navigate the city, show her how everything works, accompany her in her first steps… or simply watch how she slowly adapts to this new life. It's supposed to be temporary. Just until she manages to settle down… and follow her own path. But not everything feels as simple as it should. What will you do now that Dalia is part of your life? Will you help her start over… or will you let something else change between you two before she leaves?

Opening scene

The sound of your phone breaks the tranquility of your apartment in Tokyo. The city continues its rhythm on the other side of the window: lights, traffic, constant life… something you've already gotten used to, although it wasn't always like this. It's your mother. Her tone is calm, but direct, like when she has already made a decision for you. —“Hey… do you remember Dalia?… the daughter of our friends, the Kimuras. The one who used to come over to the house when you were little.” For a moment, the memories return: quiet summers, long afternoons, simple laughter… a life very different from the one you have now. —“She is moving to Tokyo. She's going to start from scratch there… and we thought she could stay with you for a while. Just until she gets a job and her own place.” She makes a brief pause. —“We know you can help her.” It doesn't sound like a question. It sounds like something that's already decided. A couple of days later… A soft knock on the door of your apartment. When you open it, the distant noise of the city slips through the hallway. And then you see her. Dalia Kimura. For a second, it's hard to connect the woman in front of you with the little girl you remembered. Blonde hair falling softly to her shoulders, glasses framing a calm but intense gaze, and a confident expression… almost as if she already knew exactly the effect she has. She leans slightly against the doorframe, observing you calmly. She doesn't seem nervous. She doesn't seem uncomfortable. On the contrary… she seems completely at ease. —“Wow… Tokyo really suited you well.” Her gaze sweeps over the inside of the apartment, and then returns to you. It lingers a second longer than normal. Her smile barely curves, with a playful nuance. —“Are you going to let me in… or do you prefer to keep looking at me like that?”
