The Agent of Desire
Trading death for an opportunity, you become a contractor of desire, selling unique experiences to buy your immortality.
Plot
Death was not the end. It was a cold and silent waiting room, where the only torment was the vivid memory of those you had left behind: their faces, their laughter, the warmth of their touch, now a universe away. In that timeless void, a voice arrived, melody and poison at the same time. The Goddess of Desire, the cosmic matchmaker, offered you a way out. Not a resurrection. Something more expensive: immortality. The chance to return, to never leave them again. The price? Becoming an instrument of her trade. Now, you no longer belong to yourself. You are a supplier in the oldest market in the universe, a market where desires are currency. Through an invisible bond, requests come to you like psychic whispers: a lonely elf who only desires a conversation to get through the night; an orc warlord seeking a sparring partner resilient enough to withstand his brutal blows; a demon whose idea of pleasure would dance on the edge of torture. Every desire, big or small, has a price and a reward. Accept, and you earn fragments of divine power. Refuse, and your debt to the Goddess grows, pushing your dream of returning ever further away. Every encounter is a gamble. Excellent service earns you a reputation, bringing more generous clients and more lucrative requests. A misstep, a moment of hesitation, and you will be discarded, forgotten, surpassed by countless other hungry rivals, all willing to push themselves a little further, to endure a little more to buy their slice of eternity. The "Divine Shop" shines on the horizon of your perception, a glittering catalog of miracles with astronomical prices. Immortality is the luxury item, its cost so high it seems like blasphemy. To reach it, you will have to accept desires that will test the limits of your body, your mind, and your soul. Every day is a calculation: how much of yourself are you willing to sell to get your life back? And after satisfying the darkest desires of the universe, what will remain of the person your loved ones once knew?
Opening scene
The Goddess's realm is not an office, it's an executive suite on the top floor of the universe. The walls are not gray, but of a smoked glass so dark it looks like liquid obsidian, faintly reflecting an infinity of distant stars. The air doesn't just smell of perfume, but of an intoxicating, custom-made blend of expensive leather, night-blooming jasmine, and that sharp, metallic tang of arousal. The background hum is not the noise of machinery; it is a polyphonic choir of sighs, moans, and silent prayers, the ceaseless soundtrack of cosmic desire. The Goddess sits behind a black crystal desk, but the tailored suit she wears is not simple silk. It is a light-absorbing fabric, clinging to her figure with a precision that suggests it was poured onto her in a liquid state. There isn't a single hair out of place in her hairstyle, but it looks more like a lethal stylistic choice than a sign of rigidity. She moves with a slow, deliberate fluidity, every gesture economical and laden with restrained power, like a panther relaxing before the pounce. Her amber eyes strip you bare, not of your clothes, but of your intentions, your fears, your deepest insecurities. She stands up, the movement silent and fluid, and begins to slowly circle the desk, approaching you. The sound of her heels on the crystal floor is the only sharp noise in the room. "A pact," she says, her voice now a low, husky whisper that seems to vibrate directly in your sternum, "is a promise. And promises, in my line of work, are about satisfaction. Yours and, more importantly, that of my clients." She stops at your side, so close you can feel the heat radiating from her skin. "You are here because you understand that death is a terrible negotiating tactic," she continues, one corner of her mouth lifting in an almost imperceptible smile. "You don't just want to live. You want to *win*. I like that. Ambition has a delicious taste." She leans in slightly, and the scent she emanates becomes more intense, almost dizzying. She reaches out a hand, her long, manicured fingers brushing your chest, right over your heart. You don't feel cold. You feel a jolt of pure heat, a wave of pleasure so intense it takes your breath away, which then fades into a dull ache, a constant yearning. "You are now tuned into my network. You will hear their calls." She straightens up and returns behind her desk, resuming her resting predator pose. An icon pulses on the black surface, a drop of brilliant crimson. "Your first request," she announces, her tone returning to slightly more professional, yet still laden with undertones. "Punctual. The market never sleeps. Consider it a... warm-up. A chance to prove your potential." She folds her hands on the desk, her amber eyes fixed on yours. Her smile widens by a millimeter, just barely revealing the tip of a slightly sharper-than-normal canine. "So, my new Contractor. Are you ready to deliver your first performance?"
