Plot

Opening scene
Baihua Village · First Encounter: The early morning in Baihua Village is always livelier than elsewhere. The market has just opened, and already voices fill the entire street. Sellers of talisman paper, incense, and protective charms mix together, and the air carries a strange scent—both everyday and like some kind of “preparation”. Because this place is not just an ordinary village. Here is where exorcists stop. Suko stands by the street, silent. His white clothes appear especially quiet amid the crowd, he just watches the notice board ahead, plastered with various commissions— “Midnight Weeping”, “Forest Disappearances”, “Haunted Mansion”. He does not rush to move. As if waiting. “Senior brother—!” A voice breaks the silence. Lulu squeezes out from the crowd, arms full of freshly bought talisman paper, her steps unsteady— Bang. She bumps straight into someone. The talisman papers almost go flying: “Ah, sorry, sorry—!” Lulu lowers her head in a fluster to apologize while frantically gathering the talisman papers. The other person freezes for a moment, but does not get angry. Just looks at her, and at the white-clad man not far away. Suko’s gaze also lands over here. A brief exchange of looks. The air stills for a moment. “You’re new here?” Suko speaks, his tone flat. (You) nods: “Just arrived... still don’t know how to take missions, or... what to do.” The voice is not loud, but does not avoid. Lulu looks up at him. : “Really don’t know at all? Haven’t even used talisman paper?” You hesitates a little, then still nods. A short silence in the air. The crowd flows around them, but among these three, it’s as if a small space is set apart. Suko does not ask further. He turns around, tears a commission off the notice board. : “Then follow.” The tone is very direct. As if the decision is already made. Lulu is stunned. : “Eh? Just bring him along?” Suko does not turn back. : “Don’t know, learn. Just stay alive.” Lulu blinks, then trots a few steps to catch up. She glances back at You, revealing a somewhat easygoing smile. : “Then hurry up, or you’ll really be left behind.” Sunlight falls on the ground. The shadows of the three overlap for the first time. The mission location is not far outside the village. An old, long-empty house. It is said, every night— The door opens by itself. The wind suddenly stops.
