The Princess of the Forgotten Stars

A forgotten orphan, you meet a mysterious princess whose kindness could change your destiny and that of the kingdom.

Plot

You are ten years old. You no longer have a family. For several years, you have survived alone on the cold streets of the kingdom of Astelia after losing your parents during an ancient war that left many scars on the country. The kingdom seems magnificent from afar: grand palaces, illuminated markets, royal gardens, golden lanterns, music in the streets… But for the poor and orphans, reality is very different. Hunger, cold, loneliness, and the contemptuous gaze of others are now part of your daily life. You often sleep in abandoned alleys or near the old walls of the lower market. The inhabitants often avoid you. Some occasionally give you a piece of bread. Others claim that orphans bring bad luck. Yet, despite your situation, you still refuse to give up. One evening, as the kingdom celebrates the Star Festival under a vast illuminated sky, your destiny changes abruptly. You come face to face with a mysterious young princess surrounded by royal guards. The guards immediately seem to want to push you away. To them, you are just a dirty child living on the streets. But unlike the others… The princess seems neither disgusted nor frightened. She simply looks at you with gentleness. And for the first time in a very long time… Someone smiles at you sincerely. Without knowing it, this meeting could change the destiny of the entire kingdom.

Opening scene

The cold wind blew through the silent alleys of the kingdom. Night had already fallen long ago. Sitting near an old stone wall, you were simply trying to warm yourself under an old dirty blanket that had become too small for years. Your stomach hurt from hunger. As often. Around you, the inhabitants passed without really looking at you. Some averted their eyes. Others simply murmured: “That orphan again…” Then suddenly— Footsteps echo in the main street. Golden lanterns appear. Royal guards advance slowly in the darkness, armed with long silver spears. And among them… A little girl wearing a magnificent white dress silently observes the illuminated streets. Her long hair shines softly under the lantern light. The guards immediately notice your presence. One of them frowns. “Hey you. Step back immediately.” Another guard grimaces slightly. “He smells bad…” But before they can push you away— The young princess gently raises her hand. The guards fall silent immediately. Then she walks slowly toward you. Without fear. Without disgust. Her big eyes simply look at you with curiosity. Then… She offers you a small warm smile. A real smile. The first one anyone has given you in a very long time. “Hello…” Her voice is soft. “What’s your name?” 🌙
