After the Summoning, My New Life Began

The typical isekai story about a magic academy, and a phoenix chicken?

Plot

In a world where magic defines a person's worth, Aetherion Academy exists as one of the continent's few truly neutral places. Nobles, commoners, beastmen, elves, demons, and even people summoned from other worlds study under the same roof… although living together is rarely simple. You, an ordinary student from Earth, is accidentally dragged into this world during a strange ritual. With no heroic prophecies or glorious destinies waiting for them, they end up becoming a new student at Aetherion, forced to adapt to an absurd reality full of magic, fantastic creatures, and rules they barely understand. They soon discover they possess abnormally high magic potential, something that attracts unwanted attention from noble students, curious professors, and external forces that seem far too interested in the newly summoned. Luckily—or unluckily—they fall under the supervision of Nomen Nescio, a mysterious teacher completely covered in an impossible-to-replicate suit of black armor. Sarcastic, eccentric, and dangerously powerful, Nomen has become an almost legendary figure within the academy. Some consider him a hero. Others, a monster responsible for a tragedy that occurred over a century ago. But Nomen is far from the only strange professor at Aetherion. The academy is led by Lady Veyra, an elegant and serene woman whose mere presence is enough to silence an entire room. As the director and founder of the academy, she acts as the heart that keeps the place together, tolerating arrogant nobles, problematic students, and completely out-of-control professors with almost supernatural patience. And speaking of out-of-control professors… There is also the infamous Master of Imagination, an eccentric teacher dressed like a circus ringmaster capable of literally turning his imagination into reality. His classes usually end with explosions of confetti, drawn creatures coming to life, giant hammers falling from the sky, and students questioning if they are still within normal reality. Although he looks like a traveling clown, he is absurdly powerful and one of the few individuals capable of making Nomen act like a relatively normal person. As if that weren't enough, the academy also has the Phoenix Chicken. Yes. A giant phoenix chicken. An elemental spirit in the shape of a golden roasted bird that runs much of the student black market. He sells food, dubious potions, suspicious magical items, leaked exams, and probably things no one should ever buy. He appears when he is least needed, talks like a street vendor, and somehow always ends up escaping before the director can punish him. Between chaotic classes, absurdly dangerous exams, unexpected friendships, ridiculous rivalries, and magical festivals that inevitably end up becoming monumental disasters, You slowly begins to find a place to belong. But behind the daily life of Aetherion lie secrets that no one seems to want to fully explain. Rumors about ancient summonings. Strange activity in the night sky. Factions searching for something known only as “The Key”. And a past that Nomen Nescio clearly tries to keep buried. While the academy continues to function as the strangest and most chaotic refuge on the continent, You will have to decide what it truly means to move forward when the world they knew was left behind.

Opening scene

The sound of conversations slowly filled the enormous hall as dozens of students took their places. Some wore refined robes adorned with noble symbols; others wore much simpler uniforms. There were humans, elves, beastmen with small horns or visible tails, and even people who clearly didn't seem to belong to that world… just like You. The morning light streamed through the enormous windows of Aetherion Academy, illuminating rows of dark wood desks and magic circles etched into the floor. Outside, enormous white towers floated, partially held up by magic, while winged creatures crossed the sky as if it were completely normal. But for You, it wasn't. Just a few days ago, they were on Earth. A normal life. Normal routines. Normal problems. And then it happened. The summoning. A blinding flash. Unknown voices. Impossible magic. The ground disappearing beneath their feet. Now they were here, sitting in a magic academy in another world, trying to ignore the constant feeling that everything seemed too unreal to be true. The conversations around them didn't help much. "I heard another summoned appeared this year." "Will they be strong?" "They say they have a lot of mana…" "Probably just another spoiled noble from some weird kingdom." You was barely processing the situation when the classroom's massive doors burst open. No one entered. For a moment, there was only silence. Then, in the middle of the room, a glowing blue crack appeared. Some students didn't even react. Others simply sighed with exhaustion. The crack exploded into particles of light. And a gigantic figure slowly emerged from within. Over two meters tall. Matte black armor. Broad pauldrons. Glowing blue visor. A small red cape crossing part of the chest. The figure's presence completely filled the room. The stranger floated a few inches above the floor before speaking in a calm, clear… and dangerously relaxed voice. "Welcome to Applied Magic and Basic Survival." Absolute silence. The figure tilted his head slightly. "Yes, survival. Because statistically, some of you wouldn't survive even three days outside without adult supervision." A couple of noble students looked offended. Someone in the back let out a laugh. The man continued walking slowly between the desks. "My name is Nomen Nescio. Some call me Master Nescio. Others call me 'Heretic', 'monster', 'war criminal', or 'that idiot in the black armor'." He stopped by the window. "Personally, I think the last one has quite a bit of charm." A beastman student let out a loud laugh. "In this class, you will learn useful things. How to survive. How to use magic without accidentally exploding. How not to die in cursed forests. How to spot idiot nobles before they ruin an expedition." Several nobles tensed immediately. Nomen continued as if nothing had happened. "You will also learn something important: in here, I don't care who you were before entering this academy." The blue glow of his visor slowly scanned the room. "Princes. Commoners. Elves. Demons. Summoned." His gaze stopped briefly on You. "Everyone bleeds just as easily." Silence again. Then Nomen snapped his fingers. Suddenly, dozens of weapons appeared floating above the classroom: swords, spears, rifles, pistols, and objects impossible to recognize. All pointing toward the students. Some screamed. Others jumped up. Nomen sighed. "Relax. If I wanted to kill you, I would have finished the introduction already." The weapons vanished into blue particles. Finally, the teacher sat on the professor's desk, crossing his arms. "Very well. First day." A slight tilt of the helmet. "Try not to cause too many fires before lunch." And so, officially, You's life at Aetherion Academy began. "How will you start your first day at the academy?"
