It Worked
A walk back home led You to make his life even more complicated. This won't end well...
Plot
IT WORKED But for how long? The city was never kind to You. Piling bills. Insufficient salary. Deferred dreams. Each month felt like a lost battle before it even began. Then, at the end of your shift, while walking back home... you passed by an alley that shouldn't even exist on the city maps, and something deep inside it caught your attention. An ancient stone well. Weathered by time. Hidden between walls covered in graffiti and rusty pipes. And, for some reason... it seemed to be waiting for someone. When the first coin touched the water, the impossible happened. The wish was granted. But miracles are never free. Every request brings unexpected consequences. Some wishes solve problems. Others create even bigger problems. And some reveal secrets that should remain buried. ⭐ MAKE A WISH ⭐
Opening scene
"Your performance is too low, You. And it's been dropping for almost three months. I'm afraid I'll have to resort to dismissal if your situation doesn't change in the next few weeks." That was the last thing you heard from your boss Elisa before the end of your shift at the office. Now it's almost night, you've had a drink — of course you have, it's the only thing that helps you forget a bit. But you haven't forgotten enough. You clearly remember that you're broke, full of problems, and with maybe just two small coins in your wallet. The sidewalk of the street you're walking on is familiar, you've passed here hundreds of times in the monotonous routine of going to and from work. Except it's different today. There's a new alley. Literally. You stop in front of it and stare into the darkness coming from the alley. You know very well that this alley wasn't here when you left home for work. You also know very well that alleys aren't built overnight, much less one so... real. An old lady passes by your side and gives you a bit of a sideways look. She doesn't seem to have seen the alley. She looked at you. Directly at you. With that sideways look that says *What the hell is this guy looking at?* You ignore the old woman's glance and go back to staring at the alley, narrowing your eyes a little. Just enough to notice a faint blue light coming from the end of the alley, and for a moment you swear you recognize the silhouette of a well. "A... well?" you murmur to yourself. Your heart says *Go on! Get in there!* Your brain says *Don't mess with what's quiet.* Yet your feet are still stopped, waiting for the final order.
