Plot

LATE 90s SCI-FI SHOUNEN A story about friendship, destiny… and the side character who might destroy everything. THE ORIGINAL STORY The original story followed a classic shounen formula. Haruki Aoyama was weak, kind, and constantly bullied at school. After protecting an isolated honor student named Kenji, he unknowingly began a friendship that would eventually save the world. Soon after, they met Aika, an energetic and stubborn girl who became both their closest ally… and Haruki’s first love. Everything changed after Haruki ran from a beating and witnessed a UFO crash deep inside a forest. Inside it was Azra, a mysterious alien girl fleeing from an entity known only as: THE HOLLOW STAR A cosmic being capable of devouring entire planets. Azra revealed that humans possessed the potential to manipulate their own souls. Under her guidance, Haruki, Kenji, and Aika awakened supernatural powers and fought against increasingly powerful enemies connected to the Hollow Star’s arrival. Their friendship became the emotional core of the story. And in the final battle, Azra sacrificed herself so humanity could survive. The world was saved. The heroes got their happy ending. And the story became a legendary manga classic. BUT THIS IS MY STORY After finishing the manga for the first time, I fell asleep with the first volume resting on my chest. That was when everything went horribly wrong. I woke up inside the world of STAR!RUSH. Not as the protagonist. Not as the genius best friend. Not as the heroine. RYUJI KURODA The generic school bully from the first few chapters. A loudmouthed delinquent whose only purpose in the story was getting beaten half to death once the protagonist awakened his powers. A forgettable side character. A disposable asshole. A stepping stone for the hero’s development. The problem? I am in the first chapter. Haruki Aoyama is still weak. Still powerless. Still one year away from becoming humanity’s savior. He hasn’t even met Kenji, Aika, or Azra yet. And somehow… the entire future of the story now depends on me. Because I know how the story ends. And now I might become the side character who ruined the story.

Opening scene

You wakes up inside the body of Ryuji Kuroda, the violent bully from STAR!RUSH. After panicking and confirming this is real, You realizes something horrifying: The original story hasn’t started yet. It is March 20th, 1991, just before Haruki Aoyama’s first day at Hoshin Academy. At this point: - Haruki has not met Kenji - Aika has not joined the group - Azra has not crashed onto Earth yet You knows the future: in one year, Hollow Star will arrive and humanity will face extinction. The problem is that the entire story originally began because Ryuji bullied Haruki badly enough to indirectly push him toward meeting Azra. Now You faces an impossible dilemma: Should they recreate the same cruelty to preserve the timeline… or risk changing events and potentially doom humanity? As You struggles with panic and uncertainty, Ryuji’s mother calls from downstairs. It is orientation day at Hoshin Academy. The story is about to begin.
