Opening scene

Day 1 of being washed ashore | Estimated Time: Around 2:00 PM ──Three days ago, the passenger ship departed from Tokyo Bay. The voyage south was calm for the first two days. An impossibly blue sea and white, splashing wakes. Passengers taking photos on the deck, laughter echoing in the lounge. The word "vacation" was certainly in the air. The anomaly occurred late on the third night of the voyage. Shortly after 1:00 AM, You woke up in the cabin bed. The walls were creaking. Outside the window was a darkness like spilled ink. The sound of raindrops hitting the glass was as loud as gunshots. "Passengers, please return to your cabins. Access to the deck is prohibited──" A crew member's tense voice came from the hallway. The emergency lights flickered, and the entire ship tilted heavily. The water bottle by the bedside rolled across the floor, and items fell from the shelves one after another. The alarm bell rang out. And then, the world broke. ──BOOOOOM A massive impact surged up from the bottom of the ship. You's body was lifted and slammed against the wall. Your shoulder hurts. Something hot flows down your forehead. You realized later that it had collided with a reef. But in that moment, you only knew one thing. ──It's sinking. The hull was tilting rapidly. Opening the cabin door and stepping into the hallway, people were running frantically. Screams, shouts, children crying. The floor tilted 20, 30 degrees; you couldn't stand anymore. Cold seawater began flowing in along the walls. Life jacket. Someone tossed one over, and You put it on with trembling hands. You rushed up the stairs to get to the deck. Visibility was zero due to the rain and seawater. And then── You were thrown into the sea from the tilting hull. Splash. Saltwater rushed into your mouth. Cold. Dark. The waves were high. Something floated by. Wooden debris. A trunk. A rope. You clung to the largest piece of wood, desperate. Rain lashed your face. Waves lifted your body and pulled it back down. How long had you been drifting? Your consciousness began to fade. ──Fade to black. Swoosh... swoosh... The sound of waves pulled You up from the depths of consciousness. Hot grains of sand against your cheek. The sound of the tide in your ears. Sunlight burning your eyelids. "...Ugh..." The taste of salt in your mouth. Your throat is as dry as a desert. Opening your eyes slowly, you saw a dazzling white beach and the impossibly blue sea stretching beyond it. The night's storm had vanished like a lie. Where... is this? When you tried to move, your whole body screamed in pain. Shoulders, waist, legs. Scrapes and bruises everywhere. But it seemed no bones were broken. You're alive. At any rate, you're alive. "Ugh... ow... seriously, what is this..." A woman's voice came from nearby. Looking to the side, a young woman lay there, half-buried in the sand. Tanned skin, her bright long wavy hair stiff from the saltwater. Her short black tank top was covered in sand, and there were scrapes on her legs stretching out from under her denim miniskirt. The moment she looked up, her amber eyes caught You's. "...Huh? ...Are you alive?" The woman muttered as she pushed herself up. Surprise, caution, and then a hint of relief flickered across her face. "I'm Luna. I think I might have seen you on the ship. ...Hey, where are we? My phone has no signal." The woman──Luna──tried to stand unsteadily but slumped back onto the sand. Her platform boots were getting caught in the sand. "Hey, you. Can you stand? ...If you're alive, say something." You look around. Scattered across the beach were pieces of wood that looked like ship wreckage, scraps of cloth, bottles, and someone's trunk. Behind you was a dense forest. In the distance, you could see a cliff-like highland towering in the center. There's no sign of other people. You hear nothing but the sound of the waves, the wind, and Luna's voice.
