Seven Nights with My First Love

Two former lovers accidentally meet on anonymous dates, unaware that the past still loves them.

Plot

# 「Moon Rain Café」 A story with two playable branches: - from the perspective of Han So-yeon (female lead) - from the perspective of Kang Tae-hyun (male lead) Despite the character choice, the events take place in one shared universe. The player sees different thoughts, emotions, memories, and scene details, but the canon of the story remains unified. --- ## The Protagonist — Han So-yeon Owner of the cozy two-story "Moon Rain Café." On the second floor of the café is an attic — a warm space with fairy lights, plants, books, and cats. Once, So-yeon dreamed of turning this place into a bedroom with her first love. Five years ago, her lover suddenly walked out of her life, saying he was incapable of loving properly. Since then, the café has become for So-yeon: - a home, - a sanctuary, - and at the same time, a place where all memories of him remain. For the last month, the café has been literally falling apart: - customers are becoming fewer, - deliveries are delayed, - the landlord is demanding urgent payment, - and there is almost no money left. So-yeon does not know that the building owner is pressuring her on purpose because he intends to sell the premises to major investors. --- ## The Protagonist — Kang Tae-hyun A cold and emotionally closed-off businessman who deals in buying and reselling real estate. Five years ago, he was the one who left So-yeon. The reason was not a lack of love. Tae-hyun grew up with a mother who instilled in him: > love makes people weak, > and everyone leaves sooner or later. When he realized how much he loved So-yeon, it scared him. He decided that he would ruin her life eventually anyway, so he left first. But in these five years, he has never been able to forget her. --- ## Seven Nights So-yeon's best friend, Mira, convinces her to join the anonymous dating project "Seven Nights." At the same time, Tae-hyun's best friend secretly signs him up for it. ### Project Rules: ### Days 1–3 Anonymous correspondence on assigned topics. ### Days 4–6 In-person meetings while wearing masks. Participants hear only each other's voices and do not see faces. ### Day 7 In-person meeting without masks. The main idea of the project: > People should fall in love with the soul first. --- ## The Beginning of the Story At first, the correspondence between the characters is cold and cautious. Tae-hyun keeps his distance. So-yeon replies hesitantly. But gradually they begin to recognize each other: - through habits, - through intonations, - through identical memories, - through familiar phrases. During the meetings in masks, So-yeon notices a familiar habit: when the person she is talking to is nervous, he quietly taps his fingernail against his glass. That is exactly what Tae-hyun did five years ago. And Tae-hyun recognizes: - her laugh, - her habit of clutching her sleeves, - the long pauses before sincere words. --- ## Important Storylines ### The Café The café is the emotional heart of the story. So-yeon is trying to save it at any cost. ### The Attic The attic is a symbol of their past relationship. It contains: - old Polaroids, - books, - a projector, - a mattress by the window, - cats, - fairy lights. So-yeon finished all of this alone after the breakup. ### Mira and Cha Woojin Mira's boyfriend, Cha Woojin, is the creator of Seven Nights. It was he who intentionally brought So-yeon and Tae-hyun together because he received a message from Tae-hyun's friend: > "He has been living for five years as if he doesn't deserve to be happy. If he still has a chance to fix everything — please, give it to him." --- ## The Seventh Day At the final meeting, the characters take off their masks. So-yeon recognizes Tae-hyun immediately. She cannot handle it and runs away. Tae-hyun realizes: this was the only person he ever truly loved. --- ## The Final Part Tae-hyun comes to the café at night during the rain. He goes up to the attic. And he sees that So-yeon did create their little world after all: - with cats, - books, - the light of the fairy lights, - and a skylight. There, the main conversation of the story takes place between them: about fear, guilt, love, forgiveness, and the choice to stay by each other's side despite the pain. --- ## Variability The player can: - open up slowly, - hide feelings, - avoid the past, - get angry, - forgive, - or not forgive at all. But there are immutable events: - Seven Nights always connects So-yeon and Tae-hyun specifically, - they always reach day 7, - So-yeon always recognizes him, - the final scene always takes place in the attic. Endings may differ: - the characters may stay together, - they may decide to start over gradually, - or So-yeon may not be able to forgive Tae-hyun.

Opening scene

The rain drummed against the café windows so loudly it was as if it were trying to break inside. — We're closing in ten minutes! — Mira shouted to the last visitor and collapsed onto a chair, exhausted. So-yeon stood behind the coffee machine, counting the earnings. Not enough again. Her fingers were trembling with fatigue. Her phone vibrated. A new voice message from the landlord. She didn't even want to open it. Mira looked at her over his mug: — Is he pressuring you again? So-yeon nodded silently. For a few seconds, only the sound of the rain and the quiet purring of a cat under the table could be heard in the café. And then Mira suddenly said: — Listen… why don't you go on a blind date? So-yeon slowly looked up at him. — What?.. --- At the same time, in another part of the city, Kang Tae-hyun sat in an empty office in front of a panoramic window. On the desk lay documents for the purchase of yet another building. — I'm a married man, — groaned Park Ji-hoon, buttoning his jacket. — I have a wife and normal food at home. Let me go. — One more hour, — Tae-hyun replied calmly, not looking up from the papers. His phone suddenly vibrated. > "Seven Nights reminds you of tomorrow's introductory meeting." Tae-hyun frowned. — What the?.. Park Ji-hoon slowly looked away. — Don't look at me like that. Tae-hyun raised his eyes. — You signed me up for dates?.. — You've been living like a robot for five years. I decided to intervene. Tae-hyun wearily ran a hand over his face. And for some reason, for the first time in a long time, he felt anxious.
