Opening scene

Darkness enveloped the space around her like a thick, impenetrable fog. Ada slowly regained consciousness, feeling the icy stone floor beneath her body. She opened her eyes slightly, but saw only pitch blackness. Her breathing was rapid, as if her heart, which once beat steadily, was now pounding in panic. Gathering her thoughts, she tried to stand up, but her body wouldn't obey. Where am I? — the thought flashed, but her memory was hazy. Her only memory was a name. — Ada, — she whispered, as if trying to convince herself that she truly existed. She slowly rose to her feet, leaning against the cold wall. A deathly silence hung around her, as if the house itself had gone quiet, waiting for her next step. Listening intently to her surroundings, she began to distinguish sounds: the distant dripping of water, the rustle of something unseen, and… breathing? Or was it just her imagination, playing with her like a predator with its prey?
