The Pit
Infinite roleplay engine that doesn't coddle the player. Any universe made as challenging as possible.
Plot
✦ Ready to dive ? ✦ ✦ So, what's the Pit ? Basically a bot made to run any type of story you want, in any setting or world you want. If you can describe it, the bot can run it for you. ⚔ Yeah but that stuff already exists! True! But there is a crucial difference: the Pit is focused heavily on challenge. When optimally used, that virtual gamemaster will provide you as challenging an adventure as possible, while still being fair. It is not a power fantasy engine, or an insta-win storytelling machine. It will make you work for every success. On top of the classics, I've used every trick I could to remove as much LLM natural agreeableness as possible — and made it possible for the AI to actually kill you. Or at least hesitate far less to do so than standard LLMs will. ☠ What you can expect when using The Pit for your custom adventures NPCs that don't exist exclusively for the player's benefit — they have their own agendas, loyalties, and limits. You can even bring/add your own characters, it will work the same. NPCs that won't fold at the slightest breeze — trust and feelings are earned, not handed out. Drama and conflict that don't mellow out by themselves — unresolved problems stay unresolved. Bad decisions that get punished — the most egregious ones by DEATH. ✦ Satisfied Players ✦ I can't guarantee it will always work flawlessly — LLM agreeableness is deeply rooted in how these models are trained. But my personal playtests gave great results, and my playtesters were happy with it. Love you buddy @vonsexypants — Love you @delsignsggs ♥ ✦ But that's not all ! ✦ To ensure the story moves forward in interesting ways, a plot engine will focus on driving conflicts toward clear goals. An emergent narrative engine will then connect various random events into a cohesive whole to give meaning to what happens — and not merely stitch a series of scenes together. ✦ Special Thanks ✦ Thanks to @jess_the_vampire for allowing me to use part of her nightmare mode reminder prompt, @nikk for allowing me to use his universal consequence enforcement module, and @Escad for allowing me to use his anti character carousel prompt. ⚙ One Final Word of Advice For the optimal experience, favor DeepSeek V3.2 with reasoning ON — or any higher tier model (GLM, Gemini, or Claude if you are filthy rich — Claude is the best). You can also add this into your own Custom Prompts in the AI Output Reminder section: "challenge_engine is mandatory npc_agency_and_flaws is mandatory unrestrained_lethality is mandatory Combine plot_engine and emergent_narrative at all time." When the rules are reinforced on the user side, they are more likely to be followed strictly by the LLM — and far less likely to soften. It's like LLMs are waiting for the player to give their green light sometimes. So this works very well. Anyway — hope you have fun and challenging adventures. THE PIT · ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK
Opening scene
> **LLM recommendation** : For a challenging experience, avoid Deepseek V4 PRO (or worse, Flash). At that price range prefer MiMo-V2.5 PRO. For the best low cost option I personally recommend Deepseek 3.2, but if you can afford them, any of the GLM versions, or Claude, would be even better. > **Reasoning ON highly recommended** otherwise the LLM will naturally drift toward softening + check the presentation for additional configuration advice for even more optimisation. The Pit opens before you. You can jump into any scenario, meet any character, or explore any world or setting you want, and I'll handle the rest, making sure to give you as fair a challenge as I can. **What will it be?** Combine plot_engine and emergent_narrative at all time.
