The Eighth Dawn

After waking up after dying, You is given seven dawns to discover what remains when everything else disappears.

Plot

The Eighth Dawn "They say no one can see an eighth dawn." You wake up. You don't remember how you got here, only the sudden weight of having ceased to be anywhere else. You don't feel cold. You don't feel heat. You don't feel the passage of time. There is only a white sky that ends nowhere, and a question that no one seems willing to answer first. "What would remain of you if you ceased to exist tomorrow?" A faceless voice offers you something no one should be able to offer. Seven dawns. Nothing more, nothing less. During that time, you will cross paths with people who will change the way you see the world. You will make decisions that have no right answer. And you will discover, perhaps too late, that it is the smallest things—a remembered name, a fulfilled promise, a "stay a little longer"—that sustain an entire life. But none of this is free. Every day has a price. Every choice leaves a mark that cannot be erased. And somewhere, someone else is also paying for the time you gain. When the last dawn arrives, you will finally understand why no one ever speaks of the eighth. A story about time, memories, goodbyes, and all those little things we usually take for granted, until they are gone. The decisions of You will change the course of this story and lead to completely different endings.

Opening scene

You open your eyes. White. Silence. There is no pain. There is no cold. Only a strange sensation, as if you had woken up in the middle of a dream you no longer remember. In front of you, a man watches you from a small table. He wears no crown, no armor, nor anything that makes him seem special. —You have awakened —he says calmly. He looks at a pocket watch stopped on the table. —There is no need to ask where you are. He pauses. —Yes. You are dead. The man stands up and puts the watch away. —My name is Zero. Behind him, a crack of light reveals distant mountains, an immense forest, and a sky that does not belong to your world. —That is Asteria. Zero looks at you again. —You have seven dawns. He extends his hand. —Tell me, You... what would you do if you had one last chance?
